2021 Kia K5 vs 2020 Honda Accord | Harlingen, TX
Last year marked the final one for the famous midsize sedan, the Kia Optima. The 2021 Kia K5 is the replacement for the Optima and is poised to deliver outstanding performance with abundant features for safety, infotainment, comfort, and convenience. But, how does it stack up against competitors such as the longstanding Honda Accord? When you examine the 2021 Kia K5 and the 2020 Honda Accord side by side, it is clear that the K5, though brand new, has the upper hand.
Though the Kia K5 is new to the scene, it still comes in at a considerably lower price point than the Honda Accord. You will spend nearly $800 less on the base model of the 2021 K5 than you will on the 2020 Accord, a vehicle that is a model year older.*
At its most powerful, the 2020 Honda Accord produces 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0T engine. The 2020 Kia K5, however, is available with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that cranks out 290 horsepower and a best-in-class torque rating of 311 lb-ft.
The standard touch screen for the Kia K5 is 8 inches, but you can upgrade all the way up to 10.25 inches. The base touch screen for the infotainment system in the Honda Accord is only 7 inches, and it maxes out at just 8 inches. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone integration come standard on the 2021 Kia K5, but the base model of the 2020 Honda Accord is without smartphone integration.
The 2021 Kia K5 is backed by the automaker’s industry-leading 10-year or 100,000-mile warranty program, a feature the 2020 Honda Accord can’t match.
The 2021 Kia K5 is available for purchase at Bert Ogden Harlingen Kia, but you now also have the option to buy completely online via Express Checkout.
