The available 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI engine generates 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Most importantly, when properly equipped, the new Kia Sportage can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
2020 Kia Sorento Towing
The 2020 Sorento is larger and more powerful than the Kia Sportage. For 2020, it is offered in five trims: L, LX, S V6, EX and SX. The Kia Sorento L and LX models are powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve I-4 engine that conjures up 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, enabling a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds when properly equipped. Performance increases with the 3.3-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 powering the other three trims, which generates 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque and enables 3,500 pounds of towing in properly-equipped FWD models and 5,000 pounds in properly-equipped AWD models.
2020 Kia Telluride Towing
The largest SUV from Kia is the 2020 Telluride, offered in LX, S, EX and SX trims. All Kia Telluride models are powered by a 3.8-liter Lambda DOHC 24-valve V6 engine that churns out 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and enables up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity when properly equipped.
